  3. Dear DESQview User,

  5. We believe the problem you are encountering with speaker beeps 
  6. and a system hang when starting up DESQview is a problem covered 
  7. the the READ.ME file on the DESQview disk as follows:

  9. ***** "/OK" Command Line Parameter
  10.  
  11. DESQview 2.0 supports the IBM Enhanced keyboard and tests for its 
  12. presence when it starts up.  On some IBM compatibles with old 
  13. style keyboards, this test fails.  If you cannot type to DESQview 
  14. when the menu comes up, or if the computer just "beeps" a lot, 
  15. use the command "DV /OK" to start up DESQview.  This specifies 
  16. the "Old Keyboard" and bypasses the keyboard test.

  18. This problem will not generally occur on any IBM machine, but 
  19. there have been a few isolated cases where the presence of a 
  20. resident program that is trapping the keyboard will cause this 
  21. same problem.  In those cases, you must either remove the 
  22. resident program or run DESQview with the "/OK" parameter.

  24. Note:  For the purpose of clearity in print, the /OK parameter is 
  25. typed as the letter "O" followed by a "K" as in "Old Keyboard", 
  26. not a "0" as in "zero-K".
